Shaibu Amodu was all set to make history this summer - then a 'disappointing' third-placed finish cost him his job as Nigeria manager.
Now his replacement Festus Onigbinde will become the first Nigerian to lead his country at the World Cup.
Onigbinde is in his second spell as coach of the Super Eagles after leading them during the 1980s.
He has also served as technical director of both the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association and the Nigerian Football Association.
