A highly-rated goalkeeper, Fabian Carini will still only be 21 by the time of the 2002 World Cup.
Carini has built up an impressive reputation already, with a World Youth championship winner's medal and a move to Italian giants Juventus under his belt.
Although not a first-team regular at Juve because of the excellent Gianluigi Buffon, Carini is his country's first choice 'keeper.
The former Danubio custodian has a bright future in the game and a good 2002 World Cup should show the world just what a capable goalkeeper the boy from Montevideo is.
