A forward with a keen eye for goal, Federico Magallanes is likely to play a key part in the 2002 World Cup for Uruguay.
Magallanes is likely to partner Dario Silva in attack, with Alvaro Recoba playing just behind, in what is a potent Uruguay attack.
The Montevideo-born forward plies his trade with AC Venezia in Italy's Serie A, where he has previously played for Atalanta.
A move to Spain saw Magallanes have little opportunity to shine at Real Madrid, although a more successful spell came at Racing Santander.
