Halmstad in September 1998 and has more than paid back the Gunners for their faith in him.
A pacy, attacking midfielder he made a dream debut for
the Gunners, scoring just minutes after coming on against title rivals Manchester United.
Is always liable to score crucial goals with his marauding runs from midfield - Liverpool and United were among the teams on the receiving end just this season.
Indeed, national coach Tommy Soderberg reckons he is the fastest runner with the ball in Europe.
Other club sides obviously held a similarly high
opinion as Chelsea and AC Milan were also supposedly
chasing his signature before his move to Highbury.
It would be fair to say that some of Ljungberg's best performances have come in the international arena where he thrives on his link with Henrik Larsson ahead of him.
Their understanding could well dictate how far Sweden progress.
