Babayaro joined Chelsea in a £2.25 million deal from Belgian side Anderlecht in 1997, and has been a regular on the left side either in defence or midfield.
He quit the national side after captaining the side at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, claiming he was "humiliated" by the Nigerian FA following their dismal performances.
Once broke a leg while celebrating a goal for Chelsea so don't expect him to mimic the back-flips of team-mate Julius Aghahowa if he nets this summer.
Was a fringe member of the Nigerian squad that finished third in the African Nations Cup in February.
