Khaled Badra - powerful defender. (Allsport)
KHALED BADRA
Position: Defender
Born: 04.08.73
Club: Genoa
Badra is the rock on which the Tunisian defence is built - but he also has the handy knack of scoring important goals.
The Genoa stopper, who moved to Italy from Turkish outfit Denizlispor, opened the scoring for Tunisia in the match which sealed their progress to the World Cup.
He headed home the first goal of their 3-0 win over Congo and has also scored valuable goals in the African Nations Cup.
Badra is a powerful defender and - although his distribution occasionally lets him down - his club manager has described him as "Genoa's Marcel Desailly".
His international performances saw him shortlisted for the African Footballer of the Year award in 2001.
Was one of the few Tunisians to shine at the African Nations Cup this year where he was part of the side that conceded just one goal in their three group games.
Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to stop the Tunisians from crashing out at the first stage.
