Zitouni struck home two goals in the third place play-off in the 2000 African Nations Cup in a year which ended with him being short-listed for the African Young Player of the Year award.

His performances in the Nations Cup laid the foundation for his form in the World Cup qualifiers where he was one of the stars.

The Esperance frontman has formed a sensational partnership with Ziad Jaziri, netting five goals as the Tunisians topped their qualifying group.

That made him the joint-third top scorer in the African qualifiers, an achievement he will be looking to better in the finals.
