Zahovic is the undoubted star of this fledgling nation.

An exciting attacker who is a lethal finisher, Zahovic proved his worth at Euro 2000 when he delighted crowds as Slovenia surprised many with their displays.

Having previously lit up the Champions League with Porto (he scored six goals in seven games in 1998/99), Zahovic is now back in Portugal with Benfica after unsuccessful spells with Greek outfit Olympiakos and Spanish side Valencia with whom he struggled to hold down a place.

But his constant moves have called his temperament into question, although he is more settled again back in Portugal.

Averages around a goal every two games at international level, a record any striker would be proud of, let alone one who tends to drop deep to link up with the midfield.

Will be out to show the world what he is capable of in Korea and Japan. The continent of Europe already knows.
