Earnie Stewart has been a stalwart of the US National team for several years and is probably best-known for his winning goal against Colombia in the 1994 World Cup, which took the US into the last 16.
Stewart made his debut in December 1990 against Portugal and quickly became a regular in the US first team. His speed and superb skills became his trademark and he scored his first international goal against Germany in 1993 and scored again against Iceland in the US Cup of the same year.
On the back of his performances in that tournament, Stewart was picked for the 1994 World Cup squad and actually started all four of the US' games, scoring the winner against Colombia which sent them into the last sixteen.
Stewart was again picked for the 1998 World Cup after scoring some vital goals in the qualifying stages and started all three of the US' matches.
Since the 1998 World Cup, Stewart seems to have gone from strength to strength and has built a good working rapport with youngster Joe-Max Moore.
He scored four goals in 2000 and his speed, along with his finishing, still remains one of his assets.
He is still a dangerous player who can give any defence nightmares.
