Another of Portugual's ageing stars, Joao Pinto has the only player to star in both of his country World Youth Cup triumphs of 1989 and 1991.
Does not have a strike record to compare with the likes of Michael Owen or Patrick Kliuvert, but still has 20 international goals to his name, including three in qualification.
Nevertheless, Pinto has always been a lively forward and links up well with those around him, as he showed at Euro 2000.
Scored one of the goals against England in that tournament.
After Euro 2000, he joined current club Sporting Lisbon from rivals Benfica after a bust up with his former employers.
