Inamoto has struggled at Arsenal (Allsport).
JUNICHI INAMOTO
Position: Midfield
Born: 18.09.79
Club: Arsenal
Inamoto created history in the summer of 2001 when he became the first Japanese player to make a permanent move to play in England.
The midfielder made the move from Japanese J League club Gamba Osaka to Premiership giants Arsenal, but at the time of writing had failed to make an impact.
Although his move to London created huge interest in the Japanese media Inamoto has so far been restricted to reserve team outings as well as the odd Worthington Cup appearance.
One of the stars of the national team, the Arsenal midfielder was part of Japan's Asian Cup winning side last year as well as their victorious Kirin Cup campaign.
Inamoto has played second fiddle in the national team to Hidetoshi Nakata, and needs a good World Cup on his home soil to prove to many people that his move to Arsenal was a wise one.
