Korea World Cup star Ki-Hyeun Seol has demanded a
place in the starting line-up for his club Anderlecht next season following his
country's history-making run to the semi-finals.
The 23-year-old forward has seen his chances of first team football limited
since he moved to the Brussles club from Royal Antwerp at the start of last
season.
He was used largely as a fourth choice striker, with Ivica Mornar, Gilles De
Bilde and Nenad Jestrovic all ahead of him in the pecking order.
But after playing in all of Korea's five games and scoring one goal, Seol, who
scored three goals in 20 matches last season for Anderlecht - most of them as a
substitute, is now urging his club to give him more of an opportunity.
"Next season I demand more chances, because I haven't yet had the chance to
prove myself," he said.
Seol still has one year left of his contract with Anderlecht but he is unsure
whether he will be at the club next season after claiming to have been offered
deals elsewhere.
Seen as the natural successor to Korea's Footballer of the Century Cha
Bum-Keun, Seol made a spectacular debut for Anderlecht last year scoring a
12-minute hat-trick in the country's Super Cup final against Westerlo.
His move to Belgium's biggest club last summer came after one successful
season with Antwerp. Despite difficulties settling in at the start of his first
season in Antwerp, Seol eventually ran into form notching 10 goals in 25
matches.
