ONO SET FOR OP
Feyenoord's Japanese midfielder Shinji Ono will go under the surgeon's knife to cure an appendix problem which plagued
him during the World Cup.
Ono postponed the operation so he could play at the finals, and was
instrumental as the co-hosts topped their group.
But defeat to Turkey in the second round means Ono is now free to have the
surgery.
He will have the treatment in Tokyo in the next few days, and is expected to
be fully fit when pre-season training resumes at the Dutch club.
