French champions Lyon today admitted they are ready to sell Edmilson on the back of his World Cup performances for Brazil.
The centre-back has already been subject to a bid from Bayern Munich, Lyon
chairman Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed.
Edmilson is now rated in the £15million bracket, more than twice the £7m Lyon
paid Sao Paulo for him in summer 2000, and French sports newspaper L'Equipe
report that Arsenal and Barcelona hope to sign him.
Other than Bayern, Aulas would not be drawn on which clubs have made
approaches.
"We received an offer from Bayern Munich before the World Cup which we
refused then because we decided to wait until after the finals," he said.
"That has changed and we've received other offers since - from Bayern as well
as clubs from both England and Spain."
The 25-year-old was a key member of the Lyon team which pipped Lens to the
French title last season and has played four of five matches for Brazil so far.
They face Turkey in Saitama on Wednesday for a place in the World Cup final.
