Miroslav Klose wants to shoot down the USA in
memory of former German international Fritz Walter.
The one-time Kaiserslautern striker, part of West Germany's 1954 World
Cup-winning team, died in his sleep aged 81 on Monday.
Klose -'Slautern's present day star striker - revealed he had struck up a
friendship Walter since joining the club.
He said: "If I scored against the US I would dedicate the goal to Fritz
Walter.
"My whole family will have Fritz Walter in their hearts. He has accompanied
me through my career."
The 24-year-old would also boost his Golden Boot hopes with what would be his
sixth goal of the tournament as he looks to fire the Germans into the
semi-finals.
Klose has been a revelation in the competition, scoring five times - including
a hat-trick in the 8-0 demolition of Saudi Arabia.
He is level with Brazilian Ronaldo in the race to finish top scorer, with
Rivaldo on four and Spanish duo Fernando Morientes and Raul back on three.
He said: "I feel very good among these players, but if I was not top scorer
at the end it would not be that bad."
Rudi Voller's assistant Michael Skibbe revealed today the full 23-man squad
are fit and ready for the USA clash.
Skibbe said: "It is the very best situation for the team when everyone is
ready for action.
"This creates a situation of competition among the players and we will then
choose those 11 players who show the strongest will, to give their best."
Christoph Metzelder returned to full training yesterday after two day's rest
following the 1-0 win over Paraguay in the last round due to injuries to both
ankles.
Carsten Ramelow, Christian Ziege and Dietmar Hamann - all suspended against
Paraguay - are also available to play again.
Skibbe added: "We are superior to almost all teams. In addition, we are a
harmonious unity, which is distinguished for its team spirit."
