Senegal striker Henri Camara has been compared by
his club boss to Thierry Henry and told he has the potential to be a
world-beater.
Henri Stambouli is urging Camara to stay at Sedan beyond for at least another
year, and has compared his abilities with those of Thierry Henry.
Camara has set the World Cup stage alight as a member of the team already in
the quarter-finals.
He is one of 22 France-based players in Bruno Metsu's squad and scored both
his side's goals in the dramatic second-round defeat of Sweden on Sunday.
"I am not surprised by his success in Japan and South Korea," said Stambouli
in newspaper Le Parisien.
"He is fast, his style is explosive and his shots formidable.
"Like (El-Hadji) Diouf, he wins all his duels and is capable to break any
defence system - he is comparable to Henry."
Camara joined Sedan last summer from Swiss side Zurich Grasshoppers and scored
eight league goals.
"He has the talent and the mental strength to shine at the highest level,"
added Stambouli.
"He is very serious, he thinks football.
"But I think he needs another year to confirm himself as a great player.
"If he was signing for a big club tomorrow, he would probably be confronted
to a very competitive environment and it's not always easy to cope with.
"He needs more time."
Stambouli believes the last eight should not be the limit for Senegal who play
Turkey next.
"If Senegal manage to get out of their quarter-finals," he said, "they can
go to the final."
