Jerzy Dudek has put Poland's disappointing World
Cup exit down to poor luck and bad weather.
The Poles, who were the first European team to qualify for the World Cup bar
holders France, lost both of their opening two matches in Group D.
Defeat to South Korea as followed by Monday's 4-0 surrender to Portugal and
the Poles are yet to score.
But although overall Poland have been a big disappointment, Dudek believes
part of their demise is down to a lack of good fortune.
"In both matches we did not have the luck we had in the qualification
matches," said the Liverpool keeper.
"We had some turning points then and they decided some of our wins. We missed
those kinds of turning points in Korea."
On the defeat to Portugal, which was played in torrential rain, Dudek claimed the weather had been a factor.
"Portugal was better prepared for the heavy weather. I heard that they were
very satisfied about the heavy rain," he said.
"Everything we have done during the tournament seemed to be very hard for us,
we could not take any of the [scoring] chances we had."
Poland get a final chance to get some points and goals on the board against
the United States on Friday.
