South Africa coach Jomo Sono has told his
players they have nothing to fear when they meet Spain on Wednesday.
The 'Bafana Bafana' go into the Group B decider needing just a point to reach
the last 16 of the World Cup for the first time in their history.
Sono's side have given themselves a great chance of success after a 2-2 draw
with Paraguay and narrow 1-0 win over Slovenia.
Victory on Wednesday would see them pip the Spanish, already through after two
impressive wins, to the title of group winners.
Sono insists his players will be going all out for the three points which
would set up a clash with the Republic of Ireland on Sunday.
He said: "We want to go through to the second round and we are going into the
match with the belief we can win.
"We will respect Spain, but when we walk on to the field we are all equals.
"It will be 11 against 11 and we believe we can compete on an equal
footing."
Despite his confident words, Sono admits he would not begrudge a helping hand
from Slovenia.
The Europeans are out of the competition and can end Paraguay's dream by
gaining at least a draw in Seogwipo.
Sono added: "They have some pride to salvage and I think they will go all out
to beat Paraguay.
"And I think they can do that, especially if they play the way they did
against us in the second half."
Sono looks set to stick with the 11 which put the country on the verge of
progression with victory against Slovenia last Saturday.
