Uruguay defender Gonzalo Sorondo is determined
to make the most of the South Americans' last chance to secure a place in the
last 16 at the World Cup.
Victor Pua's side have to beat surprise package Senegal at the Suwon Stadium
tomorrow and hope France do not better their winning margin against Group A
leaders Denmark.
Should that happen the likelihood is that the defending champions would go
out, and the Danes would join Uruguay in the second round.
But for now Sorondo is focusing on the job in hand - claiming three points
against the Africans.
Speaking after today's training session, he said: "We know it's our last
chance, and we have to win it in any way we can.
"I feel good playing with any situation. I don't have any problem with that.
"We're ready to face this match. Maybe the heat will be our worst rival.
They're [Senegal] more used to playing in high temperatures."
After their final practice session before the match, Pua showed his players
several video tapes of Senegal to gain a better understanding of their tactics.
And Sorondo, 22, knows they cannot afford to be caught off-guard.
He added: "They have a very good counter-attack. They take advantage when the
opposition is playing offensively."
