Brothers Patrick and Daniel Andersson are expected to be passed fit for Sweden's crunch match against Argentina on Wednesday.

Barcelona star Patrick has been suffering from a groin injury and was unable to take his place as captain for both of his country's opening matches.

His younger sibling has been recovering from a bruised thigh picked up in training on Wednesday.

The Sweden team doctor Magnus Forssbald is confident both players will be able to take their place in the squad for the Group H decider.

He said on Saturday: "Patrick was close to being fit for the Nigeria match, and Daniel has been out running today and he hasn't had any reaction.

Andersson senior is also hopeful that his World Cup will finally get underway, in a match Sweden need to at least draw to be sure of a place in the second round.

He said: "We'll have to see how I get on on Sunday, but I hope to be fit.

"I'm confident of being ready for the match against Argentina."
