Striker Diego Tristan could miss Spain's next two
World Cup matches match after sustaining a groin injury in Friday's defeat of
Paraguay.
The Deportivo La Coruna frontman was substituted by Fernando Morientes at
half-time in the Group B clash which saw the Spaniards win 3-1 and
become the first team to guarantee qualification to round two.
And he now faces an anxious wait to see whether he can recover for the next
phase clash which is likely to be on June 15.
Team doctor Gennaro Borras said: "We cannot say for sure at the minute so
we'll probably have to wait until tomorrow before we know.
"But if it is as bad as we fear then he may be out for up to 12 days."
Even if he is passed fit, Tristan might not be able to reclaim his starting
role after Morientes scored twice against Paraguay.
