Cameroon hero Samuel Eto'o was forced to remain
in the doping room for over two hours after his side's crucial 1-0 win over
Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
His strike earned the African Nations Cup champions a valuable three points to
take them into second place on goal difference behind Group E leaders Germany,
who have still to face the Indomitable Lions.
As a matter of routine, FIFA randomly test at least one player from each team
but Eto'o was unable to provide a urine sample and had to wait until the end of
France's draw with Uruguay.
However, despite the delay, Cameroon's German-born coach Winfried Schaefer
praised his young forward.
"I don't like to single out one player but I have to mention Samuel Eto'o who
scored our goal and played a terrific match," he told allafrica.com.
Eto'o will have to reproduce his heroics if Cameroon are to progress into the
knockout stages, with the Africans needing a win against the Germans to be sure
of qualifying for the last 16.
