Spain midfielder David Albelda has recovered from the muscular problems which kept him out of Spain's 3-1 win over Slovenia and is available to face Paraguay.
"I am anxious to make my debut, this is the first time I have been in the World Cup and I want to feel what it's like to be out there on the pitch. The injury is almost forgotten and I hope to be fine for Friday," he said.
"Maybe I'm not 100% fit, but I'm feeling better by the day. It was a complicated injury, but I'm very happy by the way it's evolved," said Albelda, who wasn't worried about lacking match fitness.
"I am missing a little to be at my best, but I wouldn't be training with the group if I wasn't fit," he said.
However, Albelda, who won a La Liga title with Valencia this season, realised it will be hard to force his way into the side, especially after Spain's impressive 3-1 win over Slovenia last Sunday.
"You have to be patient, the team are doing well, we won the first game and the most important thing is not to suffer another setback. There is a lot of competition here and it's difficult to play."
His target is to be ready for the match against Paraguay, in which a win would secure qualification for Spain.
He said: "I want to be fit for Friday and then the coach can decide. Personally I think my abilities are valid for any game."
Despite that, Albelda admitted sympathy with utility player Ivan Helguera, who complained about starting the Slovenia game on the bench.
"I can understand why he said it; all of us have come here after playing regularly with our clubs and nobody likes to be substitute - neither Helguera nor me," he said.
Albelda has won two caps for Spain, and was part of the silver medal-winning Spanish side at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.
