Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas believes
Paraguay's Jose Luis Chilavert will go down in history as one of the world's
greatest stoppers.
Ahead of the teams' Group B meeting in Jeonju on Friday, Casillas paid a rich
tribute to the veteran South American.
Chilavert is famed for his scoring prowess from free-kicks, having scored more
than 50 goals in league and international football, and is likely to be given a
chance if Paraguay are awarded any dangerous set-pieces.
He returns from an international ban tomorrow, imposed after spitting at
Brazil's Roberto Carlos, and Casillas will be honoured to be on the same pitch.
"He is one of the best goalkeepers that there has been in the world," said
the Real Madrid youngster.
"He is an example to all of us, because he has proven that goalkeepers can do
so much more.
"He has broken the mould of the traditional goalkeeper."
A win would guarantee Spain a place in the second round, following their
opening 3-1 defeat of Slovenia.
