Belgium striker Wesley Sonck will lead a personal
media blackout for the rest of the World Cup.
Sonck, the country's top scorer as he led Genk to the Jupiler League title,
will not attend media conferences for the duration of the tournament.
The move follows rumours of his displeasure over the tactics used by coach
Robert Waseige.
"In the article, it was suggested that I was mad at the coach," said Sonck.
"That's not true and that's why I've decided not to talk to the press any
more."
The Red Devils face Tunisia in Oita on Monday, but the build up looks to have
been marred by a breech of trust between the squad and the national media.
Waseige also kept his public statements to a minimum after Sonck's decision.
The Standard Liege-bound coach remained succinct, stating: "Have we spoken
about Tunisia - no!
"Have we talked about Japan - yes! But this is the kind of information I want
to keep in the squad."
Following their 2-2 draw with co-hosts Japan, Belgium are two points adrift of
Group H leaders Russia.
