Senegal midfielder Khalilou Fadiga is hoping he
and his team-mates can match the performance that brought a shock victory over
holders France when they tackle Denmark in Daegu on Thursday.
Fadiga, who was accused of stealing a gold necklace from a South Korean
jewellery shop before the tournament started but was later cleared, knows
Senegal served up a gem of a display against Roger Lemerre's men in Seoul.
And Fadiga sees no reason to fear the Danes providing the Lions of west Africa
can continue where they laid off against the French.
"We're not afraid of Denmark," said Fadiga. "We just need to play well in
this match as we did before."
Senegal, in their first World Cup finals, had the surprise factor on their
side when they faced France and Papa Bouba Diop secured a famous victory with
the only goal of the game.
Bouba Diop certainly seems to have taken the fame thrust upon him in his
stride, saying: "It's like usual - we don't feel much pressure."
Bruno Metsu's side are hoping skipper and centre-back Aliou Cisse will recover
from a calf strain in time to face the Danes.
For the Danes, Stig Tofting seems likely to recover from a foot injury to take
his place in central midfield alongside Thomas Gravesen.
