Brugge striker Rune Lange believes Belgium will
progress to the next round of the World Cup despite their draw with co-hosts
Japan on Tuesday.
The Norwegian frontman, who finished second behind Red Devils star Wesley
Sonck in the race for leading goalscorer in the Jupiler League, has admitted
that he is rooting for his Belgian team-mates in the Far East.
"It would be a major disappointment if they (Belgium) don't go through to the
next round from a fairly easy group," Lange told his own official website.
Brugge colleagues Gert Verheyen, Timmy Simons, Peter van der Heyden and Gaetan
Englebert are all battling it out in Group H of the tournament alongside the
Japanese, Russia and Tunisia.
"Belgium have a good side despite injuries to Philippe Clement, Emile Mpenza
and Joos Valgaeren," he added.
"But even with key players out injured, they should qualify for the next
stage.
"They should be pleased if they get to the quarter-finals. Anything less is a
failure."
