Ecuador captain Alex Aguinaga is doubtful for
the match against Mexico on June 9.
The attacking midfielder was substituted during Ecuador's 2-0 defeat to Italy on Monday with a thigh problem.
"I felt a strong pain. I will wait the doctor's evaluation, and then I will
begin the recovery process," he said.
The Azzurri kicked off their World Cup campaign in impressive fashion with
Inter Milan's Christian Vieri scoring twice in the first half.
"I guess we suffered the fact of playing our first match in a World Cup ever,
and mostly because we were 1-0 down in only seven minutes," Aguinaga added.
"We had the ball a lot of the time but it was hard to make an impact on
Italy's goal.
"In the first half we couldn't find our style, but I guess we improved in the
second."
