Costa Rica coach Alexander Guimaraes will become
a Brazil supporter for a couple of hours, as he believes a win for the
South Americans against Turkey could be key to his team reaching the second
round.
With the Costa Ricans not playing their opening match against China until
Tuesday, Guimaraes' attention will be focused on action from Ulsan.
He wants to see the Brazilians take six points from the Turks and Chinese.
"If Brazil win, that will be a very good incentive for my players, to face
China with even more belief," he said.
"The more sweep our rivals, the best it will be for us. We play against them
on the last match-day, so maybe we will be already qualified for that point."
The coach, who played for Costa Rica at the 1990 World Cup, is confident his
players are ready for the rigours of the finals.
"We have done very good work," he said, "and we don't feel any pressure.
This squad enjoys these situations."
