Zlatko Zahovic is keen to put the record
straight when Slovenia take on Spain in their World Cup Group B opener on Sunday.
The Benfica striker was part of the Slovenia side beaten by the Spaniards at
Euro 2000 and earned himself a move to Valencia on the back of his performances
there.
Things didn't work out for the frontman in the Primera Liga but now he is keen
to upset the Spaniards and get his country off to a Far East flier.
"We face Spain on Sunday and know that it is a difficult prospect but we know
them well and we definitely have a chance," he said on www.uefa.com.
"We played against them in Euro 2000 and lost but I thought we were unlucky
then and did not deserve to lose.
"Sunday's game will give us a chance to put that right.
"The way you start is always important in big tournaments like the World Cup
and three points would really be an ideal opening for us.
"If you win the first game it gives you a lot more confidence and motivation
for the other games."
