Veteran Chinese defender Fan Zhiyi will be fit to play in his country's opening World Cup match against Costa Rica in Gwangju on Tuesday.

The Dundee United player was injured during a friendly against Dutch club team PSV Eindhoven, but has recovered and should take his place for the opener.

"There're no injured players, everybody is in perfect condition," said coach Bora Milutinovic after Saturday's training session.

Fan Zhiyi, 32, has enormous experience with 105 caps and his presence will be invaluable as the Chinese embark on their first World Cup campaign.

After facing Costa Rica, China also face Brazil and Turkey in Group C.
