Denmark are praying for rain ahead of their opening World Cup match against Uruguay in Ulsan on Saturday.
Coach Morten Olsen has been angry about the scheduling of Denmark's games which sees them play two of their games, against Senegal and France, in the stultifying heat and humidity of the afternoon.
But on top of that the players have also noticed that when it is dry the new tournament balls do not run as quickly across the surface of the pitch slowing the pace of the game.
"The best thing for Saturday would be to have a day like a spring day in Copenhagen," Chelsea winger Jesper Gronkjaer told Politiken.
"But if not I hope the pitch will be a little wet, cause if it isn't we won't be able to play our game.
His team-mate Martin Laursen agreed: "I would say that the wetter and faster the pitch is, the better it will be for us.
"We are at our best when the pitch is fast, and it was clear that we had problems on the dry pitch in Wakayama."
Denmark were obviously thrown by the conditions in Sunday's warm-up game against Tunisia but in an unimpressive display still managed to record a 2-1 win.
"Here in Japan it has been perfect so far, as clouds have cooled off the temperatures, and it has rained a little, so we can't complain," Laursen added.
