Costa Rica star Paulo Wanchope insists his country are looking good for the World Cup despite an unconvincing build up.

The Manchester City man, who has just recovered from a four-month injury lay-off, believes the display in the 1-0 defeat to Belgium at the weekend was a vast improvement to recent showings.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, he said: "I was very satisfied after the match. We only need to improve the goalscoring. We missed too many chances.

"The team is doing a good job. Against Belgium we saw some improvement, and we will be in top form against China."

After their opener against China, Costa Rica will face Turkey and Brazil.
