Belgium completed their build up to the World
Cup with a 1-0 victory over fellow-finalists Costa Rica.
Despite being under pressure for most of the game, Robert Waseige's men won
courtesy of Bart Goor's 23rd-minute effort.
Red Devils captain Marc Wilmots' free-kick was headed on by Gert Verheyen and
Goor lashed a left-foot shot past Costa Rica goalkeeper Erick Lonnis.
Costa Rica should have taken the lead in the fourth minute but Paulo Wanchope
shot wide when faced with an open goal.
Wanchope's strike partner Ronald Gomez also came close when his effort was
tipped on to the post by Belgium keeper Geert de Vlieger in the 45th minute.
Costa Rica wasted further chances to draw level when Wanchope shot over when
clean through and De Vlieger saved well from Steve Bryce towards the end.
