Turkey team manager Can Gobanoglu believes the players will bounce back from defeat to South Africa in time to face Brazil on June 3.

The Turks lost 2-0 to Bafana Bafana with Benni McCarthy hitting a second-half double.

But Gobanoglu remains upbeat, insisting the squad is in high spirits ahead of the opening game.

"The friendlies do not affect our players negatively," Gobanoglu said.

"The goal is the World Cup and to progress from the group is the aim.

"We discussed the South Africa game at the hotel and saw that there was no negative effect on the team.

"The team doesn't have any psychological problems. We are now tuned in to the Brazil game.

"We will have a game with quality on June 3."

Gobanoglu maintains that there were still positives to be taken from Thursday's defeat.

"Every defeat worries you. But more important is that you learn something from every defeat," he said.

"The technical staff wanted to see some points. This was the last preparation game. And we saw what we were looking for. That helped us a lot."

Turkey will also play China and Costa Rica in Group C.
