Asian Player of the Year Talal Al-Meshal believes
it will be an "epic" achievement if Saudi Arabia manage to escape from their
World Cup group.
The Saudis have been handed an almost impossible task of trying to make the
last 16 after being drawn alongside Germany, the Republic of Ireland and African
Nations Cup champions Cameroon in Group E.
Saudi Arabia stunned the football world by reaching the last 16 at USA 94 but
finished bottom of their group at France 98 in a tough group which included
eventual winners France, Denmark and Morocco.
And striker Al-Meshal, who misses the World Cup through injury, admits the
luck of the draw has evaded the Saudis.
"We didn't have any luck on the draw," said the Al Ahli forward.
"We will do our best, but qualifying for the round of 16 would be epic."
