Costa Rica's weary squad have complained of feeling
tired before the World Cup even starts.
Alexander Guimaraes's side have been in the Far East for two weeks now and
after an intense training period, were forced to play three games in six days
against Japanese club sides.
They beat Honda and Mito but lost to Nagoya - a defeat which the players
attributed to fatigue.
"We have had too many friendly matches in too short a space of time," said
veteran goalkeeper Erick Lonnis.
"You also have to consider the trips from city to city. We're exhausted,"
added Jervis Drummond.
The schedule shows no sign of abating, though, as Costa Rica face Belgium
on Sunday.
Their first World Cup game is against China on June 4.
They also line up alongside Turkey and Brazil in Group C.
