China were defeated 2-0 by Portugal in Macao on Saturday as Luis Figo made a brief appearance to confirm his fitness.
Strikers Nuno Gomes and Pauleta netted a goal each in the second half as
Antonio Oliveira's men completed their final friendly ahead of their World Cup
opener against the USA.
Figo, who has been struggling with an ankle injury for weeks, appeared as a
76th-minute replacement for Rui Costa and came through unscathed.
China boss Bora Milutinovic, who has guided Mexico, Costa Rica, Nigeria and
the United States past the World Cup group stage, looked to have worked his
magic again as his charges held the Portuguese in the first half.
However, seven half-time substitutions by Oliveira saw a recharged Portugal
emerge after the break.
Frechaut, Jorge Costa, Fernando Couto, Rui Jorge, Pauleta, Sergio Conceicao
and Joao Pinto were all sent on as something approaching Oliveira's first 11
materialised.
