Poland president Aleksander Kwasniewski fears the
country's football team may be going into the World Cup lacking determination.
Kwasniewski, who will attend their opening match against co-hosts Korea, met
with Jerzy Engel's World Cup-bound squad on Thursday at the Presidential Palace
before they flew out to their Pusan training base.
Friendly defeats to Japan and Romania, and an unconvincing 1-0 triumph over
Estonia have raised concerns that the Poles could be heading for an early exit.
"Do not be satisfied by the fact that you have finally qualified for the
World Cup after 16 years," Kwasniewski told the squad.
"This is only the beginning."
Skipper Tomasz Waldoch is not short on confidence.
"We are very grateful to come to a meeting with the president and we have
three matches in our group, but we do not want it to end with these three
matches," he said.
Poland have organised a World Cup warm-up against South Korean side Songnam
Ilwha on Saturday.
The Korea Football Association (KFA) is reportedly not happy about the
scheduling of the match because it will be played on the same day as the Korean
national team's friendly with World champions France.
