Slovenia captain Ales Ceh has promised that the side will do their best for the fans back home - and for the local residents of Mimasaka.

Srecko Katanec's squad flew into Japan on the weekend and have been bowled over by the enthusiastic reception they have received from their hosts.

"We are thrilled with the superb training conditions here at Mimasaka," said Ceh.

"We will try to do our best at the tournament and hope that that will go some way towards repaying the hospitality shown by our kind hosts."

Katanec added: "Although we are scheduled to play at other venues in Korea, our Japanese hosts here in Mimasaka should get a lot of credit for any success we have."

Tottenham Hotspur's new midfielder Milenko Acimovic, and central defender Marinko Galic both missed training with minor injuries, as Katanec promised to ease up on the training schedule to let the players fully recover from the effects of jet lag.

Slovenia kick-off their campaign against Spain in Gwangiu on June 2.
