JET LAG FLOORS SLEEPY SLOVENIANS
Slovenia coach Srecko Katanec is delighted with his team's World Cup training camp in Mimasaka but admitted his players were struggling with jet lag since arriving in Japan.
The Slovenian players and coaching staff skipped Tuesday's welcome party organised by the town, preferring to get some sleep instead while they settle into their training camp.
Katanec said: "I am thrilled with the training facilities here, they are fantastic.
"But I am concerned about the expected tiredness of my players because of jet lag."
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Milenko Acimovic is one player in particular who is suffering.
He was first at the breakfast table on Tuesday at 6am and admitted he was finding it tough to adjust.
"What can I do," he said. "I cannot sleep anymore because of the time confusion."
Mimasaka is a small town around 700km from Tokyo with a population of just over 13,000 and will be home to the Slovenian national team until May 28.
They open their World Cup campaign against Spain on June 2 before facing their other Group B opponents Paraguay and South Africa.
