TOKYO, May 22 (World Cup) -- Mexico's World Cup coach Javier Aguirre wants to
keep his squad's preparation for the tournament a secret.
Aguirre made a clear demand to security guards at the team's first training
session in the Far East -- no spies.
The Mexican coach spoke to guards in the Japanese training camp to be sure
that no intruders would see the training session.
However, there were no obvious tactical secrets to keep as the work was fairly
gentle physical conditioning done under the eye of assistant coach Daniel
Ipata.
Having arrived in Japan yesterday, the players were allowed to wake up late
and returned to their bedrooms after a light meal.
The training session began around 4pm local time.
The serious work starts on Thursday, when the Mexican players face their first
tough training in the Far East.
Mexico's next friendly match is on Sunday, against local club side Tokyo
Verdy, whose attack is led by Brazilian striker Edmundo.
The Mexicans' first World Cup match is against Croatia on June 3 in Niigata,
and they are also drawn with Italy and Ecuador in Group G.
