"Astronomical financial requests from Paraguay prompted us to cancel the game on Monday," a Saudi spokesman told the Al-Riyadh daily newspaper.
Meanwhile, Saudi coach Nasser Al-Johar has challenged his side to make a name for themselves at the showpiece tournament.
