Slovenia star Zlatko Zahovic has joined the chorus of disapproval aimed at the official Adidas Fevernova World Cup
footballs.
The Benfica forward, who will lead the Slovenian challenge in the finals which kick-off on May 31, scored a free-kick with one of the gold-coloured balls in Friday's 2-0 friendly win against Ghana.
But Zahovic has backed up criticisms from various other players that the new hi-tech balls are too light.
"It is the worst ball that I have ever played with," said the 31-year-old.
"It does not feel the same as other footballs and I now need to practice to find my touch with it.
"I really do not see anything good in this ball."
Slovenia coach Srecko Katanec added: "We have had problems with the new ball and I see my players making very big mistakes playing with it.
"In the next few days we will look to train a lot with it to find a good touch."
Despite their equipment gripes Slovenia produced a competent display against Ghana and ran out comfortable winners through Zahovic's 32nd goal in 64 internationals and a strike from Sebastjan Cimirotic.
Katanec was desperate for his players to get experience of playing against African opposition ahead of their Group B clash with South Africa on June 12.
After a day off on Saturday the Slovenia squad flew out to their training base in Mimasaka, Japan on Sunday.
Injured sweeper Marinko Galic was the only player not to travel with the team.
He is likely to miss the first two days of training and arrive later this week.
