MEXICO DOWN MILAN

Mexico scored two early goals to defeat 10-man AC Milan 2-1 in a friendly at Los Angeles' Memorial Coliseum Stadium.

Valladolid striker Cuauhtemoc Blanco starred, scoring his nation's second and decisive goal in the 11th minute.

Braulio Luna had scored the first two minutes early.

Brazilian Serginho set up Milan's consolation for the guesting Dario Hubner in the 53rd minute, after Georgian Kakha Kaladze was ejected in the 13th minute for a foul on Blanco.

Blanco and defenders Manuel Vidrio and Rafael Marquez were the only players to play the full 90 minutes.

The win was a third in a row for Javier Aguirre's side, following defeats of Colombia and Bolivia.

For Los Tricolores, this was the last match before travelling to Japan for the World Cup.

They will head across the Pacific later today to play two Japanese club sides before their World Cup starts against Croatia in Niigata on June 3.
