OUR GUIDE TO SUWON

Suwon is a city with its own history and origins.

Established under the initiative of King Jeongjo in the 18th century during Korea's Joseon Dynasty, it is a city built on systematic and scientific planning.

Located one hour south of the nation's capital Seoul, Suwon is leading the way in Korea's technological and economic development.

Accommodation:

Suwon City operates the Home-Host and Home-Stay programs for the convenience of foreigner visiting Suwon during the tournament.

The Home-Stay program is a system that foreigners can stay at homes in Suwon City only by paying the actual costs for their board and lodging.

Fans who have round-trip air tickets and admission tickets to Suwon World Cup Stadium will be covered by the homes in Suwon City.

A full range of hotels and inns are also available.

Places of Interest:

Mt. Gwanggyosan. Stretches about 2 kilometers north-south between the Gyeongbu (Seoul-Busan) expressway and the Seoul-Suwon highway. The gentle and secluded ridges of the mountain are thickly wooded in all directions.

Suwon Art Gallery. Works of fine arts, photography, ceramic art.

Everland. Three amusement parks in one. Its Festival World has thrilling rides, a jungle safari, zoo and seasonal flower festivals. Caribbean Bay is a huge water park with wave pools and water slides. And, Speedway is where you can enjoy car racing. Everland is also the site of the Hoam Art Museum, displaying one of the finest private collections of Korean art, and Huiwon, a traditional Korean garden.

Local Delicacies:

An abundance of fresh local produce is always available while the area is also famous for seafood and other traditional dishes.
