Ulsan is renowned as the industrial capital of Korea, and is the home of the Hyundai company.

The city is also a producing centre of quality amethyst and features a theme park devoted to this attractive violet-coloured stone.

But there are beaches as well as industry in Ulsan: Jujeon beach is famous for its black pebbles, while Jinhu beach is picturesquely surrounded by pine trees.

Places of Interest:

Dolmen In Hyangsan-Ki. The dolmen is a type of Bronze Age tomb. There are two styles of dolmen: the northern style with the capstone placed on the ground and the southern style with the capstone supported by smaller stones.

Fortress of Ulsan. This fortress was the headquarters of the military commander of the Left Kyongsang-do province

Baekyangsa Temple: Baekyangsa temple is located in Hamwal mountain (Address: 819, Sungan-dong, Ulsan) It is the oldest temple that was built in the period of Silla kingdom.

Chonhwang mountain. Mt. Gagi is the highest peak of what is so called "Alps in youngnam province" ,divided into Nakdong river , east coast. This is the third highest mountain in " Nakdong mountains".

A Ulgi park. A Ulgi park in Ilsan-dong, Dong-ku, Ulsan city which has a forest for a happy walk and a beach covered strange rocks and bizarre stones is a rare place for a rest in city.

An abuncance of fresh local produce is always available while the area is also famous for seafood and other traditional dishes.
