The 30-year-old's loan spell was due to come to an end at the weekend and he has now returned to Wales after spending two months at Elland Road where he made 11 appearances.

Leeds manager Neil Warnock told the club's website: "We can't thank Alan enough for his help over the past month, and thanks also to Swansea for allowing him to come here.

"He has returned to Swansea now and we wish him all the best."

Tate, who started his career with Manchester United, has made 325 appearances for Swansea since joining the club in 2004.
