Holmes makes Preston switch

Preston have signed Lee Holmes on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old was released by Premier League new boys Southampton at the end of the season.

He had spent four years at St. Mary's but last season was loaned out to both Oxford and Swindon after falling down the pecking order.

However, Preston chief Graham Westley has moved quickly to offer him a route back into football with the League One side.

Holmes has previously represented England at Under 16, 17 and 19 level and is keen to rebuild his career.
