St Mirren are boosted by the news Craig Dargo's shoulder injury is not as bad as first feared.
Striker Dargo, 31, fell heavily delivering the cross which led to Saints' third goal in Saturday's 3-1 Clydesdale Bank Premier League win at Falkirk.
He was forced from the field amid concerns the injury could require surgery but those concerns were allayed on Tuesday following a visit to a specialist.
Manager Gus MacPherson told his club's official website: "We got good news this afternoon that Craig Dargo won't require any surgery.
"The consultant that he saw today is quite happy for Craig to do a rehab programme to strengthen up his shoulder area.
"We expect him to be out for three weeks, which means that he will miss our next four games.
"But, in spite of that, it is definitely good news for him.
"Craig basically bumped his shoulder, it was more to do with the way he landed on it - the consultant is happy that it is just a muscle injury.
"Nobody will be more frustrated than Craig himself that he will be out of action for a few weeks, especially as he has scored in the last two games but the main thing is that his injury isn't as bad as it may have been."
